Kinderhook's Trusted Appliance Repair Team

Kinderhook is one of Columbia County's most historically significant communities — a beautifully preserved Dutch-heritage village whose tree-lined streets, Federal-style architecture, and deep American history make it one of the Hudson Valley's hidden gems. The village is most famous as the birthplace of Martin Van Buren, the 8th President of the United States, whose Lindenwald estate remains a National Historic Site just south of the village center.

Today, Kinderhook is home to a thriving community of full-time residents who take pride in their well-kept historic homes and properties. When a washer breaks, a refrigerator stops cooling, or a dryer won't heat, you need a technician who respects your home and arrives quickly — not in three days. Our licensed technicians serve every address in the Village and Town of Kinderhook, and we stock the parts needed to get most repairs done in a single visit.

Whether you live on Albany Avenue near the village green, out along the rural roads bordering Stuyvesant, or anywhere in between, we provide the same fast, professional service throughout the entire Kinderhook ZIP code area.

Kinderhook Through the Years

From its Dutch colonial roots to its role in shaping American presidential history, Kinderhook's past is deeply woven into the fabric of the Hudson Valley — and the nation itself.

1609
Dutch Contact & Early Settlement
Henry Hudson encountered the Kinderhook Creek area during his 1609 voyage. Dutch settlers from the Rensselaerswyck patroonship began farming the fertile flatlands along the creek in the mid-1600s, establishing the foundations of the community.
1782
Martin Van Buren Born
Martin Van Buren was born in Kinderhook on December 5, 1782, in the family tavern on the Albany Post Road. He would go on to become the 8th President of the United States and the first president born as a U.S. citizen.
1839
Lindenwald Estate Purchased
Van Buren purchased the Lindenwald estate just outside Kinderhook village, which became his home after his presidency. He died there in 1862. Today Lindenwald is a National Historic Site operated by the National Park Service.
1800s–Present
A Preserved Historic Village
Kinderhook has carefully preserved its Federal and Greek Revival architecture, maintaining one of the finest collections of early 19th-century streetscapes in the Hudson Valley. The village is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
